The Queen And I

Publication Design

The goal of this project was to redesign of a book from the cover to its inside pages.

Original Book

The original book, despite the illustrative cover, included very little images with only a few illustrations sparsely placed within the long walls of text. Upon reading the content, I found it included very witty and playful diction and was disappointed to see that there was no other material to support this author’s quirky way of instructing the reader, thus my aim for the redesign was to lean on this playfulness and create a light, simple, and colorful publication bolstered with detailed illustrations to contrast the simple and clean text and colors.

Illustration

The main goal of the illustration for this redesign was to create detailed yet easy to read illustration so that the reader would be able to visually understand what was being said in text. The overall look is reminiscent of sketchbook drawings in order to keep the images light and easy on the eyes among the simple color palette.
